Authors are requested to submit abstracts by May 15, 2008. Delegates will be notified of the acceptance of the Abstracts by June 15, 2008 and final papers are expected by August 15, 2008. It should be noted that only Abstracts, Papers and Posters in English will be accepted.

Format: Papers should follow:

Each heading should be in bold capitals and centered

The manuscript should follow closely approved international guidelines. For instance the following is recommended for an Abstract:

The Abstract should indicate:

  • Why study was done (maximum two sentences)
  • How study was done (maximum four sentences)
  • The results obtained (maximum six sentences), and
  • The conclusions drawn from the study (maximum four sentences).

Manuscripts must be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect format to the Secretariat at the Ministry of Agriculture, Regent and Vlissengen Roads, Bourda, Georgetown, by May 15, 2008 or at the following email address: 5beecongress@gmail.com

Subject matter should be of interest to an international audience and be of sufficient technological and commercial nature.

The document should not exceed 3000 words. The number of tables and pictures should be kept within reasonable limits and included only if absolutely necessary. Information in text, tables and figures should not be duplicated.

Major deviations from the above guidelines will result in rejection of manuscripts.

Posters should follow the above guidelines as for papers but should be of no more than 1000 words. Emphasis should be on use of pictures, tables and graphs. The Abstract for a poster should be no longer than 200 words.
