D&I UPDATE

Rainfall is being experienced along the coast over the past 2 days and into this morning. There is accumulation of water in low areas of Canal no. 1 & 2, in Region No. 3 and Greenfield, Hope, Ann’s Grove (Region No. 4), New Forest, East Canjie (Region No. 6). High and flood waters are receding.

• There are flooding in the upper reaches of the Mahaica and Mahaicony Creeks and Lethem Area.
• All pumps are operable and are closely monitored.
• NDIA excavator will be deployed at Turkeyen to undertake drainage works.
• NDIA to undertake drainage works in Supply/Brickery and Jimbo, EBD, Region No. 4
• Trafalgar drainage pumps are operable.

4	Report of accumulation of water in low areas of Ann’s Grove, Two Friends, Hope Estate.	Reports of high water level in channels and Backlands area at Friendship/Craig and Ann’s Grove/Victoria, Montrose, Good Hope.	Ok.	All fixed and mobile pumps are operable. Triumph Drainage pump is operable. Works are on-going on Kofi embankment in Friendship Cleaning of Agriculture Road main drain is in progress. Excavation of Hope outfall channel to improve drainage is in progress. Paradise Drainage pump is down for repairs High Waters are receding.
5	Report of flooding in the upper reaches of Mahaica and Mahaicony Creeks.	Report of high waters in Mahaica and Mahaicony creeks.	Ok.	- All Sluices/Pumps are operable. - NDIA excavators are currently working within the Mahaica/Mahaicony area. - Trafalgar Drainage pumps are operable. - There is a small drop in the water level in the Mahaicony and Mahaica creeks.
6	No Reports of Flooding	Reports of High waters in No. 19, and East Canjie	Ok.	Remedial works on sluice door at Moleson Creek completed. Cleaning of internal drains in Alness in progress. Excavator deployed to New Forest, East Canjie to undertake drainage works.
10	No report of flooding.	Report of High waters Lower Kara Kara.	Ok.	- 24 contracts have been awarded to CDC groups to undertake maintenance. These works are in progress.
GEORGETOWN
-	No reports of flooding.	No Reports of High Waters	Ok.	-NDIA Mobile pumps at Kitty and Liliendaal are operable. - One electrical pump at Kitty pump is operable. - City Engineer’s department reported that drainage pumps at River view and Kingston is presently being repaired and will be completed shortly. - NDIA excavator will be deployed at Turkeyen today.

 

GUYSUCO
-	No report of flooding	Report of High water level in channels in Good Hope/Lusignan.	Ok.	- All Sluices and pumps are operable. - Sluice doors at Montrose and LBI are defective and operate at low tides. GUYSUCO is monitoring the operation of these Sluices.
