  1. The Regulations of the Faculty are supplementary to the General University Regulations set out elsewhere in the University Bulletin.
  2. The Faculty Board will be the final authority within the Faculty on all matters pertaining to the interpretation and application of the Faculty's Regulations.

B.Sc. (Agriculture - Degree Programme)

1. Applicants for the Faculty of Agriculture must obtain:

  1. The basic University requirements, including passes in any of the following: Additional Mathematics, Agriculture Science (Double Award), Biology, Chemistry, Integrated Science (Double Award) and Physics

(or)

  1. The Diploma in Agriculture from the Guyana School of Agriculture

(or)

  1. The Diploma in Forestry from the University of Guyana, or its equivalent.

(or)

  1. The Diploma in Animal Health from REPAHA

(or)

  1. Persons of mature age (a minimum of 26 years in the calendar year of entry to the University) who do not meet the minimum requirements but who can satisfy the University with evidence of recent academic achievement and relevant experience.

NOTE: Students may opt to do -

  1. The General B.Sc. Degree

(or)

  1. The B.Sc. Degree with option in Animal Science

(or)

  1. The B.Sc. Degree with option in Crop Science

(or)

  1. The B.Sc. Degree with option in Soil Science 

Diploma in Forestry Programme

Basic Entry Requirements

  1. The Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture from the Guyana School of Agriculture or the Certificate in Forestry from the Guyana Forestry Commission or the Guyana School of Agriculture (with at least a pass with credit) or its equivalent. A demonstrable period of relevant practical experience may be taken into account for students who graduate with less than a credit.

(or)

  1. At least five (5) subjects at the CXC General Proficiency examination (Grades I, II, or III) and/or at the GCE 'O' Level examination (Grades A, B, or C) or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics plus at least a science subject.

(or)

  1. Four subjects at the CXC General Proficiency examination (Grades I, II, or III) and/or GCE 'O' Level examination (Grades A, B, or C) or equivalent, together with the ordinary Diploma in Science (Credit Grade) from the Government Technical Institute.

(or)

  1. Persons of mature age (a minimum of 26 years in the calendar year of entry to the University) who do not meet the requirements but who can satisfy the University with evidence of recent academic achievement and relevant experience.

Bachelor of Science in Forestry Programme

Students registered for this programme must possess a Diploma in Forestry from the University of Guyana with a minimum GPA of 2.0.  A demonstrable period of relevant practical experience may be taken into account for students with a GPA of less than 2.0.

Diploma graduates for the Guyana School of Agriculture and REPAHA are entitled to exemptions from a number of courses. Graduates from the Guyana School of Agriculture are entitled to exemptions in CHM 111, AGR 111, AGR 121, AGR 212, AGR 213 and AGR 313. Graduates from REPAHA are entitled to exemptions in AGR 213, AGR 313, AGR 323 and ASC 321.
