The Society was started in January 2000 with the objectives of:

	promoting linkages between the forestry sector and the University
	providing opportunities for field orientation and experience
	developing cohesion and camaraderie among forestry student

The Society has a constitution and an elected executive committee that represents all years in the forestry programmes. Over the past year, the Society has organised several events including trips to Guyana Forestry Commission research/recreation sites and various fund-raising events. The society is recognised by the Forestry Commission, which has supported several of their activities.

The Faculty Adviser is Dr. Gary Clarke.
